Recipe Ingredients for Shepheard's Pie

1/2 lb lean ground beef
1 medium onion, diced
1 cup mushrooms, sliced
1 cup green beans, sliced
1 cup frozen peas
2 tbs canola oil
1/4 cup worcestershire sauce
2 cloves garlic, smashed
2 cups instant mashed potatoes
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 cup cheddar cheese, shreaded

Recipe Directions for Shepheard's Pie

  1. Preheat oven to 375.

  2. Heat oil and add garlic. Saute untill fragrent. Add onions and saute untill cooked.

  3. Add beef, worcestershire sauce and ketsup/vinegar (if desired) and brown.

  4. Make instant potatoes according to recipe, withholding a little bit of water. Add cheese and sour cream and blend. *NOTE* If potatoes are too thin they will not brown when baked.

  5. In a casserole dish layer ground beef mixture, veggies and mashed potatoes on top.

  6. Bake for 20 min. If potatoes are not golden on top, broil for 2-3 min.
