Recipe Ingredients for Shephards pie with venison

1 3/4 lb potatoes
1/4 cup milk
2 tbs butter
17 ounces ground venison
1 leek
3 carrots
1 onion
1/2 cup sliced mushrooms
1/2 cup frozen peas
1 tbs olive oil
1 tbs flour
1/2 cup beef stock
1/2 tsp thyme
1/2 tsp oregano
2 cloves garlic

Recipe Directions for Shephards pie with venison

  1. boil potatoes

  2. Mash potatoes with milk and butter. Set aside.

  3. Saute all the vegetables in olive oil on medium heat 5-7 minutes.

  4. Add ground venison.

  5. Once venison is browned add flour and mix.

  6. Add stock and spices and mix.

  7. Pour into an oven proof dish and then top with mashed potatoes.

  8. Bake in oven at 375 for about 20 - 30 minutes or until potatoes are just browning.
