I use reduced sodium tomato soup and 2% cheddar cheese shreds - this reduces sodium and fat content.

Recipe Ingredients for Shepard's Pie Casserole

1 lb ground beef, lean
1/2 c onion, chopped
1 can tomato soup
2 c frozen green beans
3 medium russet potatoes, peeled and quartered, boiled
1/4 c skim milk
1/4 c cheddar cheese, shredded

Recipe Directions for Shepard's Pie Casserole

  1. Brown ground beef and onion, add soup and green beans, mix well.

  2. Drain potatoes, mash with milk.

  3. Put meat mixturein 2 qt casserole that's been Pammed. Spoon mashed potatoes over the top.

  4. Sprinkle cheese over all.

  5. Bake in 350 oven for about 30-45 minutes.
