Barefoot Contessa bolognese sauce with shell pasta

Recipe Ingredients for Shells Bolognese

2 tbs olive oil
1 lb hamburger
4 tsp garlic
1 tbs oregano
1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
1 1/4 cup red wine
28 oz crushed tomatoes
2 tbs tomato paste
3/4 lb shell pasta
1/4 cup basil
1/4 cup half and half
1/2 cup parmesan cheese

Recipe Directions for Shells Bolognese

  1. Brown the ground sirloin in the oil.

  2. Add the garlic, oregano, red pepper, and cook for one minute.

  3. Add the wine and deglaze pan.

  4. Add the tomatoes, tomato paste, salt and pepper.

  5. Simmer for ten minutes.

  6. Cook the pasta.

  7. Finish the sauce by adding the nutmeg, basil, cream, and remaining 1/4 cup wine.

  8. Add the sauce to the pasta and add the parmesan cheese.
