Whole wheat pasta shells with navy beans and fresh broccoli in a simple, but tasty sautee.

Recipe Ingredients for Shells with Beans and Broccoli

4 oz wheat pasta shells
2 tbsp olive oil
2 cups broccoli florets
6 g garlic (2 cloves)
2 cups cooked navy beans
1/2 tsp dried basil

Recipe Directions for Shells with Beans and Broccoli

  1. Cook the pasta al dente. When it is done, drain and transfer to a covered casserole dish.

  2. In the meantime, heat the olive oil plus 2 tbsp water in a large skillet. Add the broccoli, garlic and basil. Saute over moderate heat until the broccoli is crisp tender.

  3. Combine skillet dish with pasta in the casserole dish and toss well.

  4. Add salt and pepper to taste and top each serving with Parmesan cheese, if desired.
