The original version of this was done in the breadmachine. I tried this as a convential bread recipe and it worked great. Used the 3 fold method to knead. Also the calories in this are not exact because I used what was in the database just to get close. Will need to fine tune next time I buy the flour ingredients and the grain. Also the apple sauce I use is homemade.

Recipe Ingredients for Seven Grain Bread

2 cups whole wheat flour
1 1/3 cup bread flour
2/3 cup seven grain cereal
3/4 cup water
2/3 cup applesauce
1 egg
1 1/4 tsp salt
1 1/2 tsp dry yeast
3 tblsp honey

Recipe Directions for Seven Grain Bread

  1. Warm the water to 100 degrees. Add all the dry ingredients in a bowl and mix well. Add the wet ingredients and mix well. Place in a large bowl and allow to rest for 45 minutes. Then remove and do the fold concept. Return to the bowl cover and let rest another 45 minutes - repeat this process 3 times. After the third time form into a load and place into a pan that has been sprayed with oil and dusted with flour. Cover and allow to rise until double in size. Bake at 375 degrees for 30 minutes (Verify the temp and time before you try this)

  2. I use a 9 in pan and slice thin at 1/4 an inch.
