Recipe Ingredients for Seasoned Kidney Beans

2 cup Beans, Kidney, All Types, Mature Seeds
5.5 oz V8 100% Vegetable Juice
2 clove Garlic
10 olives Manzanilla Olives
0.5 tsp Sea Salt
1 serving SAZON CULANTRO

Recipe Directions for Seasoned Kidney Beans

  1. Prepare dry beans according to package by soaking overnight, then boiling for 1.5-2 hours on stovetop.

  2. Once beans are done, reserve approx 1-2 cups of liquid from beans and drain remaining liquid.

  3. *Recommended to allow beans to cool overnight in reserved liquid before preparing this dish.

  4. Add 1 5 ox can of V8, achiote seasonings, garlic, sliced olives, and salt. You may also add additional seasonings to taste: garlic powder, onion powder, cilantro, cumin, chili powder. etc,

  5. *I also add a few teaspoons of olive liquid to beans.

  6. Simmer beans on stove top for at least 30 minutes and up to 1.5 hours. Simmer times should enable the seasonings to cook into the beans as well as cook down some of the liquid. You may either leave a good amount of liquid remaining for a soup-like consistency or boil down the liquid for a more concentrated flavor and more solid consistency.

  7. Serve alone or over rice.
