This is a lovely fall recipe. Uses 8 fresh sage leaves torn in half, which the Recipe section would not let me enter.

Recipe Ingredients for Seasonal Acorn Squash

2 Acorn Squash
1/2 cup Heavy Cream
1/2 cup Shredded Gruyere Cheese
2 Garlic cloves

Recipe Directions for Seasonal Acorn Squash

  1. Preheat oven to 375. Halve the squash and place open side up in a 9in square baking dish. Add 1/2 cup water to the bottom of the baking dish.

  2. Salt and Pepper the squash.

  3. In a saucepan, heat the cream, the thinly sliced garlic and the 8 fresh sage leaves torn in pieces just until it boils. Pour into the halved squash. Bake for 30-40 minutes (until flesh is tender) Remove from oven, sprinkle with the cheese and return to the oven for 10 minutes or until the cheese is golden brown. Enjoy
