Recipe Ingredients for Seared Steak Salad

1/4 c vinegar, cider
1/4 c water
2 tbs sugar
1 red onion, finely chopped
3 scallions (white and tender green parts), thinly sliced
1/2 lb steak
1/2 c mint, chopped
1/4 c parsley
5 oz spinach leaves

Recipe Directions for Seared Steak Salad

  1. Combine vinegar, water, and sugar. Add onions & scallions, toss to coat. Set aside.

  2. Heat a skillet over medium high heat; sear the steak, turning once until cooked as desired - about 2 minutes per side for medium. Set aside and let meat rest for 5 minutes.

  3. Toss the mint, parsley and spinach. Add the reserved onion mixture, toss.

  4. Divide the salad evenly among 2 plates; slice steak and lay over salad. Serve immediately.
