This tuna has great flavor. I usually coat with sesame seeds as well, but I didn't have any this go around and didn't want to add the extra calories to this recipe entry.

Recipe Ingredients for Seared Ahi Tuna

12 oz yellowfin tuna
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 tbl dijon mustard
2 tbl brown sugar
1 lime, juiced
2 tbl sesame oil

Recipe Directions for Seared Ahi Tuna

  1. Whisk together all of the ingredients (except the tuna) in a large bowl.

  2. Place the tuna in the marinade and let sit for about 20 minutes, turning the tuna after 10 minutes.

  3. Heat large skillet over med/high heat.

  4. If you are using sesame seeds, dredge now.

  5. Add sesame oil to the pan.

  6. Sear tuna on each side for about one minute or until desired doneness.
