Mexican steamed white fish meal served on a bed of rice.

Recipe Ingredients for Seafood Al Vapor

8 oz tilapia
1 tomato
1 jalapeno pepper
1/2 onion
1 tbsp cilantro
1/2 tbsp butter
1/2 cup mushrooms
1/2 cup cooked rice
1 clove garlic

Recipe Directions for Seafood Al Vapor

  1. Roll out a 9x12 aluminium foil sheet

  2. Place the tilapia on the sheet

  3. Dice the tomatos, pepper, onion, and cilantro and place on top of the fish

  4. Mince the garlic and sprinkle on top of the fish

  5. Place mushrooms on top of the fish also distributing evenly.

  6. Finally place the pat or two of butter on top of the fish.

  7. Take another identical sheet of foil and place it on top. Roll all the edges of the foil upward until a firm seal is on all sides.

  8. Set oven to broil and set oven rack to middle of the oven. Place the foiled up fish on a cookie sheet to prevent drips and let cook for 50 minutes or until the the foil is tight from the steam inside.
