yummy english scone, great with strawberry jam! doesn't keep well, so eat on day of baking!

Recipe Ingredients for scones

3 cups white flour
6 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
50 grams butter
1 1/4 cups milk

Recipe Directions for scones

  1. sift flour, baking powder and salt into a bowl.

  2. Cut butter in till it resembles fine breadcrumbs.

  3. Add milk and mix quickly to a soft dough with a knife.

  4. Lightly knead.

  5. Lightly dust baking tray with flour.

  6. Press scone dough out onto this.

  7. Cut into even 12 sized pieces, leave a 2 cm space between scones.

  8. Brush tops with a little milk.

  9. Bake at 220C for 10 mins or until golden brown.
