Simple sweet scones recipe found on recipezaar.com which originally came from a biscuit and scones recipe book. Easy and delicious.

Recipe Ingredients for Scones

2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
8 tablespoons cold margarine or unsalted butter, cut up (1 stick or 1/2 cup)
1/4 cup granulated sugar
2/3 cup rice milk or Lactaid milk

Recipe Directions for Scones

  1. Heat oven to 425 F

  2. Mix flour, baking powder, and salt in large bowl. Add butter and stir in with fork and fingers. Stir in sugar.

  3. Stir in milk until it forms a dough.

  4. Form dough into a ball and split into 2 balls. Pat the 2 balls into 6 inch circles. Cut each circle into 6 wedges.

  5. Place on ungreased cookie sheet and sprinkle with a little cinnamon and sugar if desired.

  6. Bake at 425 F for 12 minutes until tops are golden brown.
