Recipe Ingredients for Scones

5 tbsp margarine
1 3/4 cup flour
3 tbsp sugar
2 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1 egg
1/3 cup milk

Recipe Directions for Scones

  1. Heat oven to 400.

  2. Cut margarine into flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt with a pastry blender.

  3. Beat egg and stir into flour mixture.

  4. Add in milk until dough leaves the side of the bowl.

  5. Turn dough onto lightly floured surface.

  6. Knead dough 10 times. Roll or pat 1/2 inch thick.

  7. Cut into triangle shapes with a floured, sharp knife.

  8. Line baking sheet with parchment paper.

  9. Bake 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
