Add raisins or craisins or any dried fruit. Also can add orange zest.

Recipe Ingredients for scone whole wheat

1 cup flour
1 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg
1 cup buttermilk
2 tablespoons canola oil
4 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon baking soda

Recipe Directions for scone whole wheat

  1. Mix dry ingredients.

  2. Mix wet ingredients.

  3. Mix both until just moistened. Don't overbeat.

  4. 350 degrees for 20 minutes
