Recipe Ingredients for Scallops with Orange Soy Glaze

1/2 pound scallops
1 teaspoon butter
1 teaspoon olive oil
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 cup orange juice
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon ginger, grated
1 teaspoon orange zest

Recipe Directions for Scallops with Orange Soy Glaze

  1. Heat oil in large skillet over high heat. Sprinkle scallops with pepper blend and salt. Working in batches, add scallops to skillet in single layer; sauté until brown on outside and just opaque in center, about 2 minutes per side. Transfer scallops to plate, leaving drippings in pan.

  2. Add garlic and remaining oil to drippings in skillet; stir 30 seconds. Add orange juice, soy sauce, brown sugar, ginger, and orange peel. Boil until sauce thickens to syrup, stirring frequently, about 5 minutes. Return scallops to the pan to heat through. Serve immediately.
