Chard in cream sauce with bread crumb topping

Recipe Ingredients for scalloped Chard

1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon flour
1 cup 2% milk
2 ounces romano cheese
6 cups chard, chopped
1 onion, diced
1 clove garlic
3 slices bread
2 tablespoons butter

Recipe Directions for scalloped Chard

  1. make white sauce

  2. add grated romano

  3. saute 3/4 onion and 1/2 garlic clove (large)

  4. add chopped chard and stir

  5. heat then add some water to cook

  6. add chard to white sauce

  7. let simmer and reduce

  8. make bread crumbs

  9. saute butter, 1/4 onion and 1/2 garlic

  10. add bread crumbs and brown

  11. place bread crumbs on chard and sauce

  12. broil 3 minutes
