Recipe Ingredients for Savory breakfast biscuits

2 cup Gold Medal All Purpose Flour
1 tsp Baking Powder
3 tsp Sugars, Granulated
0.75 tsp Salt, Table
3 oz Cream Cheese
4 tbsp Vegetable Shortening
0.5 cup, chopped Onions, Spring Or Scallions
0.66 cup Milk, Lowfat, Fluid, 1% Milkfat

Recipe Directions for Savory breakfast biscuits

  1. 1Preheat oven to 450F. Combine flour, baking powder, sugar and salt in medium bowl.

  2. .2Cut cream cheese and shortening into flour mixture with pastry blender or two knives just until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in chopped green onions.

  3. .3Make well in center of flour mixture. Add milk; stir until mixture forms soft dough that clings together and forms a ball.

  4. .4Turn out dough ball onto well-floured work surface. Knead the dough gently 10 to 12 times.

  5. .5Gently roll or pat dough to 1/2-inch thickness. Cut out dough with lightly floured 3-inch round biscuit cutter.

  6. .6Place dough rounds about 2 inches apart on large ungreased baking sheet. Bake until tops and bottoms are golden brown, 10 to 12 minutes. Serve warm with sausage links and fresh fruit, if desired.
