Sauteed Swiss Chard Recipe

Healthy, great with browned sausage

Recipe Ingredients for Sauteed Swiss chard

1 lb Swiss chard (or nice bunch from market)
1 T olive oil
3 garlic cloves, minced
2 t butter
1/4 t nutmeg
2 T parmesan (optional)

Recipe Directions for Sauteed Swiss chard

  1. Rinse and drain chard.

  2. Remove stems from leaves.

  3. Chop the leaves; set aside.

  4. Chop stems.

  5. Mince garlic.

  6. Saute garlic and chopped stems in olive oil until tender (about 2 minutes).

  7. Add chopped chard to pan.

  8. Place lid on pan, stirring a couple of times in a 4-5 minute span.

  9. Chard will wilt to 1/3 size.

  10. Remove from heat.

  11. Stir in butter, salt, nutmeg.

  12. Sprinkle on parmesan cheese before serving.
