Recipe Ingredients for Sauteed Green Beans and Onions

1 lb green beans, trimmed and halved cross-wise
1 oz bacon, sliced
16 ounce cocktail onions, drained
2 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp thyme, dried
1 1/2 tbsp cider vinegar
3/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper

Recipe Directions for Sauteed Green Beans and Onions

  1. Cook green beans in boiling water 4 minutes or until crisp-tender. Rinse with cold water, drain and pat dry.

  2. Cook bacon bacon in large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat until crisp. Remove bacon from pan, reserving 2 tbsp of drippings in pan; crumble bacon and set aside. Add onions to drippings in pan;cook for 3 minutes, or until onions are golden brown-stirring occasionally.

  3. Add the beans; cook 2 minutes or until thoroughly heated.

  4. Add vinegar, salt and pepper;toss to coat. Stir in crumbled bacon just before serving.
