Sauteed Bamboo Shoots - They're great warm or cold.

Recipe Ingredients for Sauteed Bamboo Shoots

2 T canola oil
3 garlic cloves, smashed
70 g onion, diced
10 g ginger, sliced
3 lbs bamboo shoots, julienned
2 c water
1/3 c vinegar
2 T sugar
2 T soy sauce
1 t pepper

Recipe Directions for Sauteed Bamboo Shoots

  1. Heat oil in a large pan. Saute the garlic, onion, ginger and bamboo shoots. Add water and simmer until water is reduced by half.

  2. Combine the vinegar, sugar, soy sauce and pepper in a bowl, then add to bamboo shoots. Continue simmering until the bamboo shoots are almost dry.
