Apple sausage and fresh chard make it! Pay no attention to the D+. It's because of the fat and sodium. And the Dreamfields pasta claims many fewer carbs. Live a little!

Recipe Ingredients for Sausage and Chard with Penne

12 ounces Dreamfields Penne Rigate
1 1/2 lb Apple Sausage
1/2 lb onion
1/4 lb green pepper
1/4 lb red pepper
4 cloves garlic
1/4 c white wine
4 ounces swiss chard
2 tbs fresh sage
4 tbs fresh parsley
1 tbs olive oil
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
1 ounce parmesan cheese

Recipe Directions for Sausage and Chard with Penne

  1. Cook the penne

  2. Saute onion, pepper and garlic in olive oil

  3. Add in sausage, cut into bite-sized pieces

  4. Cook for 10 minutes

  5. Add in chopped chard, parsley and sage and stir well

  6. Cook for about 5 mins

  7. Deglaze the pan with wine

  8. Mix with cooked penne

  9. Cover and let sit for 10 minutes

  10. Serve with grated Parmesan
