A hearty simple soup with cabbage, potatoes, and sausage.

Recipe Ingredients for Sausage-Cabbage soup

4 patty (8 oz bulk Italian) pork sausage
1 large onion, chopped
3 tbsp tomato paste
1 head, large, chopped
8 small potatoes with skin
5 cups chicken broth
4 cups water
2 tsp black pepper
1 clove garlic, chopped

Recipe Directions for Sausage-Cabbage soup

  1. Crumble sauage in stock pot and brown on medium heat.

  2. Add garlic and onions, mix well and brown slightly.

  3. Add tomato paste, continuing to stir.

  4. Add cabbage, water, and broth.

  5. Bring to boil.

  6. Meanwhile, cook potatoes (I use the microwave) and chop.

  7. Add potatoes to soup, bring to simmer for 20 mins, or until cabbage is cooked.

  8. Season with pepper.
