White cream sauce with cheese enrichment

Recipe Ingredients for Sauce Mornay

2 tbsp butter
3 tbsp flour
2 cups whole milk
1 cup swiss cheese
1/4 tsp salt
1 pinch pepper
1 pinch nutmeg

Recipe Directions for Sauce Mornay

  1. Boil milk and salt

  2. While boiling milk, melt butter on low.

  3. After butter has melted, slowly add flower stirring with a wooden spoon.

  4. Once, completely mixed add boiling milk to mixture.

  5. Whisk.

  6. Bring to a boil and stir for 1 minute.

  7. Take off heat and stir in cheese.

  8. Add pepper and nutmeg to taste.
