Waffle Maker produces 4 "squares" - figure 2 "squares" per serving. High cal food, but very yummy!

Recipe Ingredients for SATURDAY MORNING BELGIAN WAFFLES

2 c flour, sifted
4 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
2 c milk
4 eggs, separated
1 c. canola oil

Recipe Directions for SATURDAY MORNING BELGIAN WAFFLES

  1. Sift together flour, baking powder & salt, two or three times to mix well.

  2. Beat together 4 egg yolks and 2 cups milk in one bowl.

  3. In a separate bowl, whip egg whites until it forms stiff peaks.

  4. Mix milk & egg mixture with dry ingredients just until moistened. Stir in 1 c. canola oil. Fold in beaten egg whites. Pour batter from a pitcher into waffle maker. Close lid and keep it closed until the steam subsides and the waffle is nicely browned. One large waffle makes two servings. This should make at least 4 large waffles.
