Recipe Ingredients for Sara Snow's Oatmeal Fruit Bars

2 cups whole wheat flour
1/2 cup ground flax seed
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs
1/2 cup honey
1/4 cup skim milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 small apple
1/2 cup raisins
1/2 cup dried apricot
1 cup coconut
3 cups old fashioned oats

Recipe Directions for Sara Snow's Oatmeal Fruit Bars

  1. Mix flour, flax seed, baking soda, salt, and spices.

  2. Beat butter and sugar until smooth. Add eggs, honey, milk, and vanilla. Beat until smooth.

  3. Add dry mixture to mixing bowl. Stir in oats, coconut, fruit, and nuts.

  4. Press into cake pan and bake 15-20 minutes at 350.

  5. Cool and cut into bars.
