Recipe Ingredients for San Marzano Tomato Marinara

1 oz Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1 oz Garlic, minced
1/2 tbsp Basil, Fresh, chopped
1/2 tbsp Italian Parsley, chopped
56 oz Tomatoes (2, 28oz cans, blended)

Recipe Directions for San Marzano Tomato Marinara

  1. In a large sauce pan, heat olive oil over medium heat

  2. Add the garlic and cook for a minute then add fresh basil and Italian parsley with the crushed red pepper

  3. Cook for a minute

  4. Add the blended tomatoes , season to taste with salt and pepper

  5. Bring to a boil then simmer for 15 minutes

  6. Stir with a wooded spoon and skim off impurities as they rise to the top

  7. Adjust acidity with a bit of sugar if desired to balance out the flavor.

  8. Check seasoning and let rest warm till needed or remove, chill and store in the refrigerator.

  9. Try portioning you marinara in small containers and freeze them so you can have a quick sauce when you need it!
