Recipe Ingredients for sam's plain polenta

1 cup yellow cornmeal
3/4 cup water
3 1/4 cups boiling water
1 teaspoon sea salt (kosher or sea salt)

Recipe Directions for sam's plain polenta

  1. boil 3 1/4 cups water in a saucepan with sea salt. Remove from heat.

  2. in a small bowl mix cornmeal with 3/4 cups water, stir thoroughly.

  3. Add cornmeal mixture to boiling water, stir out lumps. Return saucepan to stove and cook on high until mixture is thickened and boils, stirring constantly.

  4. cover and simmer until very thick, about 8 minutes, stirring occasionally to keep from sticking.
