Recipe Ingredients for Salsa Turkey Burgers with Avocado Spread

1 lb ground turkey
1/2 c salsa
1/2 red bell pepper, chopped
1/2 red onion, chopped
1/2 c cilantro, chopped
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1 avocado
1/2 jalepeno pepper
1 tablespoon lime juice
1/4 c fat free sour cream (optional)
4 tomato slices
2 lettuce leaves

Recipe Directions for Salsa Turkey Burgers with Avocado Spread

  1. Mix turkey, salsa, red bell pepper, onion, cilantro, salt & pepper. Form into patties.

  2. Cook patties over medium heat on the grill or under the broiler until browned on one side, about 7 minutes. Turn, cook until center temp is 160 F - about 7 more minutes.

  3. Meanwhile, mix avocado and jalepeno in a medium bowl. Stir in the lime juice (and sour cream if desired).

  4. Plate the patties - top with avocado spread, lettuce and tomato. Serve with extra salsa if you like. (Note feel free to use hamburger buns - but you'll have to add in the calories.)
