Round Steak smothered in a tomato, pepper and onion sauce.

Recipe Ingredients for Salisbury Steak

1 lb. round steak
24 oz. tomato sauce
1 green pepper
3/4 c. white onions
2 T. black pepper
4 T. flour
1/4 c. vegetable oil

Recipe Directions for Salisbury Steak

  1. Add 1/4 c. vegetable oil to a frying pan and heat oil. Combine 4 T. flour and 1 T. black pepper. Coat both sides of each piece of round steak and add to the pan, and cook thorough.

  2. Remove steaks, and drain grease from the pan. Add 1/2 of the tomato sauce, and half of the peppers and onions. Return the steak to the pan, and cover with the remaining tomato sauce, peppers and onions. Sprinkle with remaining 1 T. of black pepper, turn pan on low, and simmer for 45 minutes to an hour.
