The cayenne and horseradish add a special zest to this traditional layer salad. Can also add chopped hardboiled eggs, crispy bacon, garlic powder and any other vegetable you desire.

Recipe Ingredients for Salad - Layer

1 head iceberg lettuce
2 cups red or green peppers
2 cups celery
2 cups red cabbage
1 cup green onions
2 cups green peas, frozen
4 ounces cheddar cheese, shredded
1 cup Miracle Whip
2 teaspoons sugar
1/4 teaspoon cayenne

Recipe Directions for Salad - Layer

  1. Blend the dressing ingredients in a bowl and set aside.

  2. Layer from the bottom up in the following order:

  3. Lettuce, pepper, celery, cabbage, green onions, green peas, dressing, and cheese.

  4. Optional:

  5. A. For extra zing, add 1/2 cup sour cream & 3 tablespoons horseradish to Miracle Whip.

  6. B. Top with crispy fried & drained bacon.
