Recipe Ingredients for Sage Dressing


Corn Bread:
2 cups Self-Rising Corn Meal Mix Aunt Jemima
1/4 cup crisco shortening
1 cup self rising flour
1 1/4 cup 2% milk
1 egg, beaten
1/4 cup water as needed

Biscuit Bread:
2 cups shortening
1/2 cups crisco shortening
1 1/4 cup 2% milk
1/4 cup water as needed
1 medium onion, finely chopped
2 tablespoons ground sage
1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Recipe Directions for Sage Dressing

  1. Grease 9x9 pan and sprinkle with corn meal. Mix first 5 ingredients. stir until well mixed. If extra liquid is needed, add 1/4 cup or more of water until it is pourable. Pour into pan and bake at 400 until cracked and brown on top. Meanwhile mix biscuit bread in order shown and bake until done.

  2. let breads cool until it can be handled.

  3. Crumble breads together in large bowl. Add onions and pepper, salt as needed. Mix together well Pour broth over all ingredients and mix well. Put in 9x13 ungreased pan and bake at 350 for 20 - 30 minutes until dry on top and toothpick come out clean.
