Homemade Lasagna with ground beef

Recipe Ingredients for Safeway Lasagna recipe

8 oz pasta
1 lb ground beef - 93% lean
1 small onion
2 cloves garlic
6 oz tomato paste
14 1/2 oz diced tomatoes
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp salt
1 tsp basil leaves
1/4 tsp crushed red pepper
16 oz ricotta cheese
1 egg
1 tbls parsley flakes
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup parmesan cheese

Recipe Directions for Safeway Lasagna recipe

  1. cook lasagna according to package directions

  2. combine ground beef, onion, and garlic in skillet, brown until beef is no longer pink

  3. drain

  4. stir in tomato paste, diced tomatoes, sugar, basil leaves, and red pepper

  5. bring to boil

  6. reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes

  7. blend ricotta, egg, parsley, and salt in a medium bowl

  8. spread thin layer of sauce in a 13x9 inch baking dish

  9. layer one third each, lasgna, ricotta mixture, mozzarella, and parmesan cheese

  10. Repeat layers

  11. Cover

  12. Bake in a 375 degree oven until hot and bubbly, approx 45min to 1 hour

  13. Let stand 5 minutes before cutting
