A tradition in our house. This is a double recipe, and they still will be long gone by Christmas.

Recipe Ingredients for Russian Tea Cakes

2 c butter
1 c powdered sugar
2 t vanilla
4 1/2 c flour
1/2 t salt
1 1/5 c walnuts, chopped

Recipe Directions for Russian Tea Cakes

  1. Cream together butter and sugar.

  2. Add vanilla.

  3. Mix together flour and salt, add to butter mixture.

  4. Mix in chopped nuts.

  5. Roll into balls.

  6. Bake at 400' for 10-12 minutes.

  7. Cool just slightly, roll in more powdered sugar.
