Russian Tea Cakes; Butter Balls; Sand Tarts

Recipe Ingredients for Russian Tea Cakes

1 cup butter
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla
2 1/4 cup flour
1/4 tsp salt
3/4 cup nuts
1 cup powdered sugar

Recipe Directions for Russian Tea Cakes

  1. Preheat oven to 400 F

  2. Cream butter, vanilla and 1/2 cup powdered sugar

  3. Finely grind nuts

  4. Mix in flour, salt and nuts

  5. Chill dough

  6. Roll into 1" balls

  7. Bake until set but not brown (10-12 minutes)

  8. While still warm, roll in powdered sugar.

  9. Cool and roll in sugar again
