Recipe Directions for Roux

  1. In small saucepan, mix flour and oil well.

  2. Cook over medium-high heat for 5 minutes while constantly stirring.

  3. Reduce heat to medium-low and continue cooking (continually stirring) for about 8 to 10 minutes until mixture turns a light brown.
