Super easy, very flavorful bread.

Recipe Ingredients for Rosemary Foccacia Bread

2 1/2 tsp active dry yeast
2 c water, warm
1 T sugar
2 tsp salt
240 g white flour, (**)
240 g wheat flour, (*)
2 T rosemary, (dried)

Recipe Directions for Rosemary Foccacia Bread

  1. Directions

  2. Dissolve yeast & sugar in warm water.

  3. Add flour, salt, and 1 T rosemary and stir until blended.

  4. Do NOT knead.

  5. Cover and let rise in a warm place for one hour or until doubled in size.

  6. Spray two 9" cake pans with cooking spray and sprinkle with a bit of cornmeal.

  7. Dough will be REALLY sticky.

  8. Thoroughly wet hands with water and remove half of dough to one pan and half to the other.

  9. Keep wetting hands with water and press very gently to form into the cake pans.

  10. Cover with a towel or sprayed plastic wrap and let rise another hour.

  11. Sprinkle with remaining rosemary and grind a bit of Kosher salt over loaves (if desired).

  12. Bake @ 425 for 10 minutes, then reduce temp to 375 for 15 minutes more.

  13. Remove from baking pans and cool on wire racks.

  14. Serves 16

  15. *I use Stone Buhr brand whole wheat flour which contains fewer calories than this database calculated.

  16. **Can also be made with just white flour.
