There's a seasoning called Hawage that is recommended with this. This is an Arabic spice and I don't know what the English name is.

Recipe Ingredients for Root Veggie Soup

3 cup onion
1 cup parsnip
1 cup celery root
4 large carrot
1 cup cilantro
5 clove garlic
1 t Spices Whole Black Pepper
1 t caraway seed
1 t dill
1 t tarragon
1 t basil
1 t rosemary
2 liter water

Recipe Directions for Root Veggie Soup

  1. Cut the vegetables into bite sized pieces and add everything into a large pot.

  2. Bring to full boil then simmer until vegetables are tender.
