Recipe Ingredients for Roger's Granola 2011

12 c Rolled Oats
2 c Wheat Flakes
2 c Rye Flakes
2 oz Oat Bran
1/2 c flax seed meal
1 c Wheat Germ (healthy, but optional)
1 c Dried Milk, fat-free
1 c coconut, shreaded
1 c Toasted Sunflower Seeds, unsalted
1 c Almonds, sliced
2 c Brown Sugar
1/2 c Honey
1 tsp cinnamon, ground
2 tsp Vanilla Extract
1 c Water
1 c Raisins
1 c Cranberries, dried
1 c Blueberries, dried
1 c Apricots, dried

Recipe Directions for Roger's Granola 2011

  1. Heat oven to 325-350 degrees with two racks in middle of oven.

  2. Add all grains, bran, nuts and dried milk to very large mixing bowl and mix.

  3. Add sugar, honey, vanilla and water to Quart Measuring Cup and heat in microwave until sugar dissolves.

  4. Stir dissolved sweetener into grain mixture and thoroughly stir.

  5. Lightly oil two large, rimmed baking sheets and divide granola equally and evenly.

  6. Place baking sheets on two middle shelves and bake for about 30 minutes, stirring contents and rotating pans, top to bottom at 10 minute intervals. Remove cooked granola to cooling racks.

  7. When granola is cool, add back to large mixing bowl and add chopped dried fruit.

  8. Store in 20 Qt. sealed container in cupboard.
