Recipe Ingredients for Roasted Beef, mushroom and Barley soup

1 lb sirloin steak
16 ounce mushrooms
2 onions, chopped
2 tbsp olive oil
1 salt
1 pepper
4 cups chicken broth
3/4 cup barley
1 cup water

Recipe Directions for Roasted Beef, mushroom and Barley soup

Preheat oven to 425. In roasting pan toss together 1 pound sirloin steak, cut into 1/2 inch pieces, mushrooms-trimmed and sliced and onions. Drizzle with olive oil. Season with salt and pepper. Roast until beef and mushrooms are browned about 30 minutes. Transfer to pot and add 4 cups chicken broth and barley. Bring to a boil then reduce heat and simmer for about 15 minutes.
