Recipe Ingredients for RJ's Basic Lowfat Tomato Sauce

84 oz. tomatoes, canned (3 28 oz. cans)
1 1/2 tbsp. oil, olive
1 cup onion, chopped
3 cloves garlic, chopped
1 tbsp. salt
1/2 tsp. ground pepper
1 tsp. dried basil

Recipe Directions for RJ's Basic Lowfat Tomato Sauce

  1. Saute chopped onion and garlic on LOW heat in 1-1/2 tbsp. olive oil, covered. If onions begin to brown, lower the heat. Cook until translucent.

  2. Add tomatoes (can be crushed, or whole tomatoes pureed in blender, or any other canned tomato product you enjoy) and seasoning.

  3. Simmer for about 30 minutes.
