Made lower cal by lowering the oil and maple syrup

Recipe Ingredients for River Run granola

2 cups steel cut oats
2 cups regular rolled oats
2 cups wheat flakes
1 cup raw sunflower seeds
1 cup sliced almonds
1/3 cup canola oil
1/3 cup maple syrup
4 T water
2 t. vanilla

Recipe Directions for River Run granola

  1. Preheat oven to 300 degrees

  2. Place non stick aluminum foil on a 12 by 17 inch jelly roll pan

  3. In large bowl mix oats, wheat flakes, seeds and nuts

  4. In saucepan over medium heat warm oil, syrup, and water. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla

  5. Mix well with oats mixture

  6. Spread into pan. Bake 45 minutes tottal stirring every 15 minutes. Remove from oven and allow to cool. It will crisp as it cools.
