Recipe Ingredients for Rich and Sinful Buttermilk Waffles (Reduced, not low sodium)

4 cups all purpose flour
4 tbsp sugar
3 tsp baking soda
14 tbsp SACO buttermilk blend
3 1/2 cups water
4 eggs, separated
1 stick butter, melted and cooled
1 tsp vanilla extract, optional
1 cooking spray, for waffle iron

Recipe Directions for Rich and Sinful Buttermilk Waffles (Reduced, not low sodium)

  1. Combine dry ingredients.

  2. Mix water and egg yolks. Stir in the butter and vanilla.

  3. Preheat the waffle iron.

  4. Stir the wet into the dry ingredients.

  5. Beat the egg whites until they hold soft peaks. Stir them gently into the batter.

  6. Spread a ladleful onto the waffle iron and bake until done, 3-5 minutes.

  7. Serve immediately.
