Rich Pasta Sauce Recipe

Very good filling, rich, hearty pasta sauce. I served on Farfalle with sirloin steak as the meat. I did not include the meat in the recipe, as several types would work and I measured out 4 2oz pieces, giving my boyfriend 3 and myself one.

Recipe Ingredients for Rich Pasta Sauce

2 cloves garlic
1 tsp parsley
1/2 tsp marjoram
2 tsp chili powder
1 tsp pepper
1/2 medium onion
2 tsp basil
1/4 cup balsamic vinegar (I used raspberry)
2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp olive oil
1 tbsp lime juice
1 cup frozen spinach
1 1/2 cups tomato sauce

Recipe Directions for Rich Pasta Sauce

  1. Mix garlic, parsley, marjoram, chili powder, pepper, and basil (preferably sweet basil) in a small bowl.

  2. Add olive oil, vinegar, lime juice and worcestershire to above mix.

  3. Place chosen meat in small bowl and pour mixture over to marinate.

  4. Meanwhile, spray pan with oil and add chopped onion and frozen spinach to pan, pouring a bit of the marinade over it if you wish.

  5. When completed, push veggies around the outside of the bowl and turn heat up to medium high.

  6. Place meat in middle to cook and pour some marinade over meat and veggies.

  7. After meat as browned, turn over and continue cooking until most of liquid is gone.

  8. Mix in tomato sauce slowly and bring to boil, then turn down to low continuing to stir.

  9. Serve over pasta with meat.
