Recipe Ingredients for rice pudding

3 serving 1% Low Fat Milk
0.33 cup Rice Basmati
0.33 cup Sugars, Granulated
1 dash Salt, Table
0.33 large Egg, Whole
0.5 tsp Vanilla Extract

Recipe Directions for rice pudding

  1. use a bigger pot than you think is necessary.

  2. boil 2 cups milk, sugar, and rice, stirring frequently. be careful and don't let it boil over.

  3. after it boils for 1-2 minutes (while stirring), turn down heat.

  4. simmer until the rice is tender.

  5. beat an egg and take about 1/3 of it and mix with the remaining 1 cup milk.

  6. temper egg mix with milk/rice from the pan (add a bit of the hot to the cold so that the cold gets warmer gradually). do this so you don't curdle the egg.

  7. add egg mix to pot.

  8. add vanilla.

  9. bring to a boil again for a bit, till you scrape the pot and see the bottom. look for a pudding consistency.

  10. allow to cool and enjoy.
