Brilliant tasy side dish to compliment chicken, lamb, or beef dishes.

Recipe Ingredients for Rice Pilaf

200 g onion, chopped
300 g rice
3 1/2 cups water
24 g stock cubes
28 g butter
1 g turmeric
3 g salt
1 g allspice, ground
1 g curry powder

Recipe Directions for Rice Pilaf

  1. Fry onions in butter until tender

  2. Add spices and rice and fry 2-3 minutes, stirring

  3. Add stock dissolved in water

  4. transfer to lidded casserole dish

  5. Bake 40 minutes at 170C (340F) or until tender.

  6. Chopped vegetables such as carrot and peas can be added to taste before baking.
