Rice Pilaf Recipe

A great side dish or take out all the veggies except onions and can be used under anything that says serve over rice.

Recipe Ingredients for Rice pilaf

4 cups water
2 cups converted rice
119 g carrots
160 g onion
12 g garlic
60 g green chilles
175 g frozen peas

Recipe Directions for Rice pilaf

  1. Saute all vegetables except peas. (I used I can't believe it's not butter so that I didn't add any excess fat or calories) until onions are opaque.

  2. Add rice and saute 1-2 minutes longer.

  3. Add water, cover and bring to a boil, turn down on low and cook 20 min. don't uncover or stir

  4. When uncovered all liquid should be gone - if not turn up until liquid is gone.

  5. Meanwhile, cook peas in microwave (or on stove and drain)

  6. Add to cooked rice along with any spices desired, stir and serve
