Rice and lentils cooked with chicken stock and the mixed with bacon and onion.

Recipe Ingredients for Rice and Lentil sidedish

2 cups uncooked white rice
1/2 cup Lentil, Brown
1 onion, chopped
3 bacon, chopped
1 tbs olive oil
1 1/2 cup chicken stock
1 cup water

Recipe Directions for Rice and Lentil sidedish

  1. Put rice and lentils into a pot.#Add stock and water and bring to a boil.

  2. Turn heat down to a simmer for 20 minutes or until water has evaporated.

  3. While you are waiting for rice to cook heat oil on a medium heat in a frying pan. Add bacon and onion and saute until soft and bacon is thoroughly cooked.

  4. WHen rice mix has finished cooking add the bacon and onions and stir in until well mixed.

  5. Serve as a sidedish.
