rice flakes with peanuts and odacha kadalai (bhuna chana) makes for a tasty snack.

Recipe Ingredients for rice flake snacks

10 oz rice flakes
2 1/2 oz peanuts
1 tsp pepper, red, powder
1 salt to taste
1 tbsp vegetable oil
2 oz chickpeas, roasted

Recipe Directions for rice flake snacks

  1. heat wok, fry the peanuts till they start cracking, add the roasted chickpeas and fry till they start to turn slightly brown.

  2. remove, keep aside.

  3. heat the oil, add the salt and chilli powder and immediately add the rice flakes.

  4. saute on slow fire till the rice flakes start to sizzle and become crisp.

  5. add the roasted chickpeas and peanuts.

  6. transfer to a clean dry dish, cool and store in airtight container.

  7. goes well with a hot cup of chai.
