Seasoned with garam masala or curry powder

Recipe Ingredients for Rice and Beans

1 cup white rice, uncooked
1 tbsp olive oil
1 medium onion, chopped
2 clove garlic
1 tsp fresh ginger root, ground to paste
1 1/2 cup water
19 oz bean medley
1 tsp garam masala
1/2 tsp kosher salt

Recipe Directions for Rice and Beans

  1. Saute onions in olive oil for several minutes until lightly browned, add garlic and ginger and saute for another minute or two, stirring frequently.

  2. Add rice and cook with onions for 1 minute.

  3. Add water and seasoning and cook rice according to package directions (simmer for 15-20 minutes).

  4. Drain and rinse canned beans, mix in with cooked rice and heat through.
